Creative Editor Seeks Startup With Vision...

When it comes to brands making content, I think there are two camps: those who do the expected and those with a vision.

The brands that do the expected create some decent list articles, throw in some "how-tos," and have the expected results: they'll rank for some keywords, score a handful of social shares, and be satisfied with a modest email newsletter. But they won't be remarkable.

Then there are those with a vision. They want to build a unique voice, perspective, and loyal audience. So they approach things differently. They treat their content like its own product—something that is so good it could be entirely self-sufficient beyond the brand itself. And they're left with something far more valuable and sustainable as a result—the trust of a dedicated audience.

If that's what Splice wants to build, I think I can help.

Let's Talk

Work History

Ceros | Managing Editor | 2016 - 2017

I started at Ceros as a writer and was quickly given the opportunity to lead a new editorial project. I built a five person editorial team from the ground up. We defined coverage, voice, and mission, developed stories and series, and redesigned the entire site with a look and feel that dripped with style.

WeDidIt | Inbound Marketing Specialist | 2015 - 2016

I was brought on as the first and only marketing hire at a very small software startup. With our limited resources, we built an audience around our target customer with unique articles, videos, events, webcasts, and more.

Freelancer | 2012 - Now

I love lending a helping hand to organizations looking to develop a unique voice whenever I can. I've designed websites for professional organizations, produced podcasts, written in-depth articles, and more.

Assistant Director | The George Center | 2012 - 2015

First job out of college. I was the founder's right-hand man. Assisted in all elements of running the business, from sales to business development to bookkeeping. Started and ran a content initiative that drove an audience and helped establish the company as a leader in the field.

Video and audio production, writing and editing, content strategy, marketing automation (Hubspot), Adobe CC, HTML, CSS, and more.

What They Say About Me

"I'll cut to the chase: Andrew is one of the up-and-comers that will soon be WAY out of anyone's league to hire and partner with, so reach him now while you still can. I say this after nearly a decade in digital marketing, leading content teams and startups through acquisitions/IPOs and now in VC. Andrew is an awesome human, too, but if you want to know my top-3 content traits for him: He loves taking risks and being creative (and it pays off big -- his authentic voice and approach stands way out); he is thoughtful about his process (knows how to find answers, not simply propose them to sound smart); he consistently delivers above and beyond (providing extra work, tackling parts of a project on spec and offering it up for feedback, etc.). I know this from observing his work, trying to hire him once (I'll get him next time!) and now having the pleasure of him partnering with me on I can't recommend Andrew enough!"

Jay Acunzo, Founder at Unthinkable Media | Keynote speaker

"Andrew is one of the hardest working, smartest people I've ever had the pleasure of working with.  Multi-faceted, strategic yet tactical, ambitious yet unassuming, he's basically an entire team in a box, and a whole lot of fun to work with.  I would jump at the chance to work with him again"

Matt Wellschlager, VP of Marketing at Ceros, Inc.

"Andrew is a student of marketing. He has the drive/passion to not only get better BUT to also execute towards significant results. He's data-driven, results-oriented and a pleasure to work with. I chose Andrew to join the WeDidIt team as our 1st Marketer because he convinced me that he'd make an impact immediately and would help us build a content-inbound marketing machine at WeDidIt. He hasn't disappointed and I don't think he will."
